What? Halal Dates?
Haha clickbate!
On a serious note, I wanted to provide you with two things you can do, to get some barakah in your nikah and marriage life. We all want a blissful marriage and we do this by following the Qur'an and Sunnah. We follow Allah's command:
“And one of His signs is that He created for you spouses from among yourselves so that you may find comfort in them. And He has placed between you compassion and mercy. Surely in this are signs for people who reflect.” (Quran, 30:21)
We want that comfort, compassion and Mercy, don't we? (I see you nodding!)
Here's two ways, I think, that'll help you inshaAllah
NIKAH IMAM
The Nikah Imam is very important, in ensuring you get married! He'll go through the process and at the end you are declared husband and wife! In literally a split second, you become halal for each other, you have yourself a spouse and of course rights and responsibilities come about.
However, it's important to get the right person to do your Nikah. That Imam will be the first person to make Dua for your marriage. As soon as you say 'kabool', the Imam (and those nearby) will recite:
(Arabic text may not show on your screen):
بارك الله لكما و بارك عليكما و جمع بينكما في خير
BarakAllahu Lakumma, wa Baraka `Alaykumma, wa Jama`aa Baynakumma Fee Khayr
May Allah bless for you (your spouse) and bless you and may He unite both of you in goodness.
So make sure you choose wisely. Not just someone who thinks about money, makes a light Dua for you and your spouse etc. Have someone you know, who cares about both of you.
HALAL DATES
I mean the fruit, what did you think!
As per custom, people provide Dates at the Nikah. Which is amazing on it's own. How about levelling it up?
Alhamdulillah we know the importance and virtues of Sadaqah. With the many charity organisations we have, some sell Dates for charity where your money (sales, profits etc) goes towards a charitable cause around the world.
By purchasing Dates from a charity, you will not only engage in a Sunnah of having Dates, but also starting your marriage life with Sadaqah. Sadaqah is very powerful and has immense benefits and blessings.
“Indeed, the men who practice charity and the women who practice charity and [they who] have loaned Allah a goodly loan - it will be multiplied for them, and they will have a noble reward.” (Al Hadeed 57:18)
I hope these two points can help you in your marriage and I pray Allah grants you a blissful marriage, Aameen.
