POEM: The trial of A’isha RA

All praise is for Allah, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم

I present to you a poem that I have written in honour of our mother, Umm al-Mu’minin A’isha as-Siddiqah bint Abu Bakr as-Siddiq رضي الله عنها, the beloved wife of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

This poem recounts the story of the Ifk, when a group of people slandered A’isha رضي الله عنها while she was returning to Al-Madinah al-Munawwarah after an expedition she was at with the Prophet ﷺ.

During the journey, she had been left behind while searching for a necklace she had lost. Thereafter, she became the victim of a vicious slander.

She endured a difficult trial, which was also a deeply challenging time for Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

Eventually, her innocence was declared by Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ in the Qur’an, in Surah An-Nur (24:11–20).

I hope you enjoy the poem. May Allah be pleased with Umm al-Mu’minin A’isha رضي الله عنها. Aameen.
