It's only a sandwich! So today I had a homemade sandwich for lunch, made lovingly by the wife. I decided to contemplate on the sandwich and explore the blessings from just one sandwich. You see, we gotta go way back. Way back.
So let's see. The bread. It was bought from a supermarket. Someone put it on the shelf. That someone was gifted with the ability to move their limbs, go to the shelf by seeing with their eyes, to have the intelligence of knowing which section and which shelf to place the bread.
Before that it was delivered to the supermarket, most likely on a lorry. Once again, the driver utilised their blessings of their eyes, their limbs etc to operate the lorry to come from the depot to the Supermarket.
The lorry was built in a factory, by different people with different knowledge and skills. Various parts such as the tyre, exhaust, window, engine etc was put together from different parts of the world.
The lorry drove through roads probably the motorway, which was laid out by workers using different equipments most likely from different parts of the country and even the world. Different wholesalers, different manufacturers of each component. Different people planning the road layout, working day and night to make it safe for the users.
The bread was baked in a factory by workers with different skills, utilising their intelligence, their limbs etc. Using different ingredients such as flour, yeast etc which was made using different methods and equipments. It was baked in an oven, which was built by skilled individuals, with different parts.
The factory in which the bread was baked was itself built by skilled workers, with various equipments such as bricks, glass, pipes, lights, electricity etc.
Woah! Ok let's stop there. You get my drift.
Alhamdulillah, Allah has blessed out with so much in so many ways we can't even start counting the blessings. Thank Allah for the food and where it comes from.
