Once when I was in my mid teens, I went to my local Masjid for Salah as usual. The Masjid is very active with the work of Tabligh so every so often a Tablighi brother would stop you and speak about the dheen and encourage you to sit in Ta'leem, Bayan go Jamat etc.
I happened to meet a brother who was spending a few days in Jamat. MashaAllah he was a Hafiz of Qur'an. He told me that he had 18 brothers and sisters! 8 brothers and all 8 were Huffaz of Qur'an!
MashaAllah he was a nice brother, not like other Tablighis who often can be intrusive.
One day he told me that if you recite Laa Ilaha Ilallah 100 times a day, your face will shine like the moon on the day of Judgement. I was quite excited by this and when I went home, I told my dad about this.
After some time, one day my dad called me and said:
"Do you remember telling me that 'if you recite Laa Ilaha Ilallah 100 times a day, your face will shine like the moon on the day of Judgement?"
I replied yes. He asked me if I recite it. To be honest I didn't have a practice of it. He then said:
"Since the day you told me about it I have been reciting it till today," I was quite surprised but didn't think much of it later on.
Towards the end of my father's life he wasn't able to talk. He fell ill and eventually passed away. I have much trust in Allah that my father due to his regular recitation of the Kalima, that he died on that inshaAllah.
Thanks to that brother. May Allah reward him abundantly, Aameen
