Hope in Allah

Allah is so Merciful and so Kind. In this verse He begins by telling us about something is to happen, but he prepares us and gives us hope first:

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اسْتَعِينُوا بِالصَّبْرِ وَالصَّلَاةِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ مَعَ الصَّابِرِينَ

O you who believe! Seek assistance through patience and prayer; surely Allah is with the patient. Surah Al-Baqara, Verse 153

Then He tells us what it is:

وَلَنَبْلُوَنَّكُم بِشَيْءٍ مِّنَ الْخَوْفِ وَالْجُوعِ وَنَقْصٍ مِّنَ الْأَمْوَالِ وَالْأَنفُسِ وَالثَّمَرَاتِ وَبَشِّرِ الصَّابِرِينَ

And We will most certainly try you with somewhat of fear and hunger and loss of property and lives and fruits; and give good news to the patient, Surah Al-Baqara, Verse 155

And how we should react:

الَّذِينَ إِذَا أَصَابَتْهُم مُّصِيبَةٌ قَالُوا إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ

Who, when a misfortune befalls them, say: Surely we are Allah's and to Him we shall surely return. Surah Al-Baqara, Verse 156

And what's one of the rewards?

أُولَٰئِكَ عَلَيْهِمْ صَلَوَاتٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَرَحْمَةٌ وَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُهْتَدُونَ

Those are they on whom are blessings and mercy from their Lord, and those are the followers of the right course. Surah Al-Baqara, Verse 157:

And then at the end of this Surah He says:

لَا يُكَلِّفُ اللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَ

Allah does not impose upon any soul a duty but to the extent of its ability; Surah Al-Baqara, Verse 286

But yet there's more reminders and hope towards the end of the Qur'an

فَإِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا

Surely with difficulty is ease. Surah Al-Inshirah, Verse 5

إِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا

With difficulty is surely ease. Surah Al-Inshirah, Verse 6

Allah is our Lord and Creator. He is Perfect and we are not. He knows that. We are but humans and would err time to time. We are humans with emotions and needs. And Allah knows that. He gives us so much hope and that hope is with Him. We can't find it anywhere else, so it's pointless in looking other than with Allah. 

Life has its ups and downs.

Twists and turns.

Visions are blurred.

Things happen.

We must keep faith in Allah no matter what.
